No More Chains...

Let me ask you this, how many times have you heard yourself saying to others that “I used to be able to do this”? It’s something that we all find ourselves doing at some time or another but I then asked myself ‘What made me change?’ I needed to learn that I had to accept myself for who I am right at this moment in time.
I have spent many points in my life living the ‘if only’ life after many unfortunate events that have taken place. Until one day. I was driving home from work and realized that I had to give myself a metaphorical kick up the behind. It suddenly dawned on me that I had been living the past number of years with the pause button pressed.
Over the years I had felt permanently tired. I really couldn’t understand why until I had a revelation. I was not only trying to get on with my daily life but I’d also been tormenting myself with the ‘what I could or should have done’ in my past.
Once I was able to free myself from those shackles of the past, I found that my energy levels began to soar. I soon started to learn how to live for the moment. But it took time and I began to take baby steps.
So, how can you start to break those chains?
Look at all the things in your life that you can do right now – It might be writing a business letter or reading an inspirational book. Next time, make sure you write two letters or read a longer book. You need to build up your positives to show yourself a better you.
Write a letter to all those thoughts of your past that were holding you back. Write it a letter, with words or even a picture. Then “let it go’. You can burn it, shred and bury it. Or plant it under a tree.
Make sure you are grateful for everything that you have in your life. Understand that , your uniqueness is your best asset. As the saying goes ‘Be yourself, everyone else is taken’.
Slowly you will learn that it is okay to be yourself and take off the pause button.
